Tashi Lapcha (5,755 m) is a glaciated pass connecting the Rolwaling Valley to the Khumbu — one of the most committing trekking passes in Nepal. The 19-day route walks east from Charikot through Rolwaling villages, crosses the pass under Tengi Ragi Tau, and descends into the Khumbu at Thame.
Why this trek
- One of the few foot routes connecting two of Nepal's main trekking regions.
- Technical pass — requires basic crampon and rope skills, with two glaciers to cross.
- Rolwaling Valley is restricted-area — small numbers of trekkers, intact Sherpa culture.
- Tsho Rolpa Glacier Lake — one of the largest glacier lakes in Nepal, scientifically monitored for outburst risk.
Demanding and committing. We run this trek with climbing-trained Sherpa guides and a full camping crew. Prior altitude experience required.
