- Max altitude 4,100 m — friendlier than full Dhaulagiri Circuit, accessible to less experienced trekkers.
- Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve — Nepal's only legal hunting area, but mostly used for trekking.
- Chhantyal cultural pocket — small ethnic community with their own language, found nowhere else.
- Tea house accommodation for most of the route.
